Behind the blog Part 2

Of all the meals I have in a week, I only show a few on the blog. If you want to see the first post I did about the blog, see here.  It takes a long time to photograph meals, and I don’t like to stage food so often. I just want to enjoy it! When I started my blog, I took pictures of what I ate each day. That got old for me real fast, and I transitioned to sharing recipes and stories. Now I only photograph everything I eat rarely, and focus on more quality recipes and photos.

Many of my everyday foods can be found on my “What I eat” page, but here are a few things I have all the time right now.

Green Monsters. I eat these for lunch, usually later in the week when there’s no fresh produce left in the refrigerator. And once a week at max. I know some people eat them daily, but I just want it every so often. I eat it with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a muffin most times.

Big salad. This is what my lunch looks like most days, but I made it pretty here for the camera. Salad with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, half avocado, hummus, green beans. Vegetables change out, but it’s usually similar. A slice of zucchini bread from the freezer on the side.

Yogurt with Cereal. Some call this a “yogurt mess,” but to me, it’s just breakfast. I mix Greek yogurt with cereals and fruit in some combination, sometimes similar to below.

Nut balls. These are kept frozen and are great to grab when you need quick energy or something to hold you over until the next meal.

Muffins like this one are frequently in my freezer. I grab them for breakfast with hard boiled eggs or with lunch like the salad above.

I can’t go without cookies. Ones like these are also usually frozen so I can grab one at a time.

What are some things you eat all the time? If you aren’t a blogger, do you think it’s strange to photograph everything you eat?

  1. I wish I ate as heathy as you. My diet is so bad lately.
I don’t think it is strange to photograph everything you eat, but it is a commitment that can interfere with the joys that food brings; community, friendship, deliciousness… I try to photograph food worth sharing and only if my company doesn’t object. The flow of a dinner can be ruined if I am moving around the table playing musical dishes trying to get the best lighting.

  2. Those nut balls look delish, I try to make my food look pretty but sometimes its just not happening!
