Pregnancy Update: Week 18

It is Week 18! We are the size of a bell pepper and it weighs about seven ounces. That’s like a really big piece of chicken! I have been feeling really good this week, lots of energy during the day and sleeping really well at night.

I owe you a picture, my sister says the loose clothing ones are no good, but I am either wearing work clothes or pajamas.

Yesterday, we had our big halfway there anatomy scan. The appointment was a little earlier than halfway, but the baby is developed enough to see all the main parts like arms, legs, toes, fingers, the brain, and heart chambers. All was normal, but we looked away at the girl or boy announcement part.

I wrote Tuesday about my new exercise class at Define Body. I am enjoying that and will go back more this weekend. It got hot here again, so more Define, less outside walks. It’s hot!

I am also wearing more maternity clothes. I skipped the Belly Band stage and decided I didn’t really like wearing unbuttoned pants. It was a little weird for me. I foresee lots of leggings, dresses and loose tops or cardigans this Fall. Hopefully those trends are still in!

Again, not too exciting of a week, which is fine by us! We have a lot of weekend trips coming up, so I am enjoying some quiet while I can.

It’s funny that they do the anatomy scan at 18 weeks in the US- here they say 18-20+6, but they really do push you into making it a 20 week scan so I am still waiting! Glad everything looked normal :)
