Hello at Week 25 and welcome to December! I am really happy to check off another month on our calendar and feel like March is getting closer. I cannot believe we are almost in the 3rd trimester!
This week, Baby Center says we are the size of a rutabaga (google it). The baby is over 13 inches long and around 1.5 lbs in weight. As I say every week, wow, that is getting big! I am too.

I missed an update last week because of Thanksgiving, and I don’t think I ever updated on here about my progress at the doctor’s office the week before. At my 23 week check up, I had gained 6 lbs in a month! While that is a lot in four weeks time, it is a common time period of growth and still very normal. Just explains why I started to feel very large. That puts my overall weight gain at 12 lbs. Probably more now that it’s two weeks later. Everything else was really great and on track, and I am really happy with how my body is handling pregnancy.

I am still feeling very good and mostly normal. We had a lot of travel in the last two weeks. There was a weekend in Atlanta, two nights at home, and then two nights away for Thanksgiving. Now we are home for a few days before our next trip for another wedding.
Travel is wearing on me more than it used to. It is a little harder to get comfortable on airplanes, and I don’t enjoy hotel beds. Luckily, I still sleep great at home. Packing is also different too. I have to make sure clothes will fit!

Exercise clothes have still been particularly hard to find. I had good luck at Gap Maternity with two pair of sweat pants that I wear for everything–around the house, travel, walk Lily, and exercise. Workout tops are more difficult to find. I actually only have two right now that I like–one from Gap Maternity but it only comes in black, and one from Lululemon that I bought two sizes bigger. I’m trying to not buy non-maternity clothes in bigger sizes because I don’t want to be stuck with too-big clothes after, but I am getting my money’s worth out of this top. And I miss shopping for normal clothes a lot.
(can someone please teach Jeffrey how to take a non-blurry picture with an iPhone?)
I also bought two long sleeved exercise shirts in XL from Sports Authority for walking outside. Hope those fit for a while!
Other notable things from the last two weeks–lots of movements, lots of decisions made, and just feeling bigger all the time. I sometimes say “wow” at myself in the mirror, getting bigger all over isn’t the greatest! Also still have good energy in the kitchen, which is great because it’s cookie month!
To end on a positive note–our cute family at Thanksgiving.
