Two weekends ago we went to Dallas for a long weekend. I am from Dallas and had been away from the city for 13 months. It was my longest time to be away from Dallas in my whole life, probably by months and months. We see my parents plenty often in Houston or on trips, but I just hadn’t been home in that long. And Logan had many people wanting to meet him.

On a Thursday, Logan and I took a flight by ourselves to Dallas. Being that it was a one hour flight, it was just fine. He happily took a bottle that lasted most of the flight and then he jumped on my lap and smiled at people. Jeffrey and Lily joined us by car on Thursday night.

Then Logan made himself right at home with the slew of toys and clothes that my mom had waiting for him. We had a little party for him on Saturday that we mistakenly put during his afternoon nap time. We planned the party back in June, and I didn’t really know when he would nap. He was a trooper and was very fun and happy.

Then on Sunday we drove back to Houston, which was our first long car trip together. We left after his 10 a.m. bottle and stopped once at 1 p.m. to feed him again, then kept going. He slept parts of the drive, but not really long stretches. Then he slept great that night since he had such a busy weekend.

Little boy needed his beauty rest too. He held onto his new football the whole time. We’ll be back in Dallas at the end of September and hope to have more fun again then!
