Now really, this was a fun month. Last month I said that Month 6 was the most fun so far, and now Month 7 has been the best. Logan continues wowing us daily, making the cutest faces and sounds, and we just love to be with him. I used to look for a helping hand all the time –to help with bath, an outing, entertain him, hold him, etc. but now being just the two of us is fun and usually easy.

This month, Logan continued getting a lot of teeth! His two from last month have grown about halfway in and are so cute when he smiles. He also has four coming in on top, two of which have already cut, and maybe two more on bottom starting to think about coming in. Teething is not enjoyable, but we hope he learns to use the new chompers soon.

He weighs in at 20 pounds and 26.5 inches from a few weeks ago. That puts him in the 85% for weight and about 40th for height.
This month, I tried transitioning him to a brand new schedule. I would like him to drop to two naps, take a bottle every four hours, and add a second meal of solid food. My plan was to initiate all of these together, because if he eats more solids, he could stay fuller longer, and then I can position his naps accordingly. I tried this plan for five days, part of which were in Dallas, but ended up back where we started eating every three hours with one real meal (sometimes two) and three naps. In my opinion, he needs more practice at food to drop a milk bottle. He doesn’t like Puffs or Yogurt dot things or Mum Mums, and I’d like him to like those so I can give him snacks.

I am still making my own baby food, and I alternate him between homemade food and Earth’s Best Organics jarred food. For school, it’s easier to have jars, and at home, I feed him what I make. So far, he likes most foods! Still on fruits and vegetables only.

Back to Logan–he is starting to pull up on toys or stairs or in his crib. We also lowered the crib this month. Pulling up will probably be his next accomplishment. Just in time for his 7 month birthday, he started to crawl. He is like “I get it!” There’s no stopping him now.

We introduced him to the swing at the park which he loves, and he started wearing pants! Yes, pants. It’s been hot his whole life until last month, and he used to only wear onesies with shorts for legs. Now he wears pants with a onesie tucked in. It’s too cute.

We had a little sleep regression, most likely due to teething that also brought on a cough and very runny and stuffy nose. He was waking up either very early between 5-6 or in the middle of the night. Neither of which are ok. We are hopefully over that.
That’s a wrap for month 7! Can’t wait to see what happens coming up!

Marci,
